Division Representations Using Google Drawings

Here are our division representations using our favorite… GOOGLE DRAWINGS! So impressive!

Bar Graphs Using Google Drawings

Today we created bar graphs using Google Drawings! The only directions I gave were to make a bar graph using scaled intervals. I am SO impressed with their creativity and critical thinking skills!

Google Drawings Multiplication Representations

Today in the computer lab with Mrs. Cross we made multiplication representations using Google Drawings! Click on each picture to enlarge. Mrs. Cross even added comments to us when we were finished.

Addition Google Drawings

Today in the computer lab we made Google Drawings on 2 digit addition. They came up with their own regrouping problem, word problem and part part whole model.

Google Drawings

Today after our writing CBA, we learned how to make part part whole diagrams using Google Drawings. I’m amazed at how quickly they can pick up the new technology and math strategies. Your children have wonderful number sense! Here are some pictures of their Google Drawings!

When the whole is missing, you add. Part + Part = Whole. When the part is missing, you subtract. Whole – Part = Part.

Rounding Number Lines -Google Drawings

We had some technical issues with our science lesson on the smart board this morning and no matter what I tried to do, it just wouldn’t load or work properly. This gave us some extra time so I asked the kids what they wanted to learn on Google Drive. Baylee suggested us rounding numbers on a number line using Google Drawings, the same program we used for our place value webs. What an impressive idea!! I had never thought of that! It really amazes me with the amount of technology they’re already able to use. Just imagine what they’ll come up with by the end of the year!

Habitat Google Drawings

As an extension to our group research project on habitats, I had a few students try out Google Drawings. They first made their web on butcher paper, but then they made it using Google! They said it was so easy and so fun! I think they turned out GREAT! See for yourself how awesome they are! Every group will be making one when they complete their paper web. Here’s the 2 groups that have finished so far.

I just LOVE how they made theirs look like a tree since they’re habitat is the woods.

Our Polar Habitat Web

Excellent work guys! I just know you’ll be helpful in showing others how to use Google Drawings! 🙂

Fractions Using Google

Today in the computer lab we used a Hyperdoc on Fractions! They explored websites and watched a video about fractions. Here’s what the Hyperdoc that I altered/used looks like:

After they watched the videos and used the practice websites, they created their own Google Drawings on halves, fourths, and eighths. Here are screenshots of their Google Drawings!

Addition and Subtraction Representations

This week in the computer lab, we made Google Drawings representing several ways to solve addition and subtraction problems. These include equations, strip diagrams, and story problems. Mrs. Cross modeled how to do this on Google Drawings only twice and they were able to create these! They inserted text boxes, shapes, pictures, and lines. They learned how to change font and photo size. They’re well on their way to becoming Google Drawings experts! Click to enlarge the picture.

Halloween Problem Solving

Today we got with a partner and made up our own Halloween word problems. Then, we created part part whole models and solved the equation using Google Drawings! Click on the images to enlarge.
